Construction Administration Services (including Quality Assurance Field Testing and Delivery) for Contract 2020-3001. This project is located on Highway 401 at the Grand River and King Street structures in Cambridge. The construction work involves grading, drainage, granular base, hot mix paving, structural and electrical, to replace the two Grand River Bridge structures (33-141-E & 33-141-W), rehabilitate the King Street Overpass (33-142) and interchange ramps, make improvements to Highway 401, and install High Mast Illumination and other electrical works.
This project is following the Construction Manager General Contractor (CMGC) process for the design, bid and build phases of the project. Construction is expected to begin on March 1, 2021 with an expected completion date of November 1, 2024.
This is a two-part assignment with Key Personnel providing technical expert services in the Detail Design (DD) phase and Construction Administration (CA) services in the construction phase. This assignment requires the successful proponent to participate as a technical expert in the final detail design process, and also provide Construction Administration once the contract is awarded. Key Personnel (Project Manager and Contract Administrator as a minimum) will be expected to draw on previous experiences and be available to participate in the DD, including but not limited to attending meetings, review documents, schedules, drawings and specifications, reports and provide written comments or suggestions to improve the overall quality of the final Contract Documents. Participation in the DD phase of the assignment will be required until the award phase of the construction contract. The Proponent’s CA Services will only be required for the construction phase once the construction contract is awarded and will be notified in writing if CA services are not required due to a non-award.
As a minimum, the Project Manager for this assignment must have demonstrated experience as a Project Manager on 4 or more similar MTO or municipal projects or equivalent with at least 2 having a value of at least $10,000,000.00.

Speciality Plans for Environmental Monitoring, Structural (general, steel girder manufacturing and coating), Foundations and Electrical will be included in this assignment. More details will be provided to short-listed EOI proponents in the Request for Proposal.
