Project Number: 2021-Y-0230
This assignment is for contract administration services and deliverables for MTO contract 2022-2001. The work involves grading, granular, drainage, electrical, ATMS, sign structures, concrete pavement rehabilitation, hot mix paving, and structure rehabilitation work.
- The work is to be performed over 3 construction seasons involving traffic lane staging on mainline, structures, and ramps with sub-stages in each of the seasons, maintaining the same number of existing lanes, and where work is expected to continue 24 hours for a period over a week in sub-stages with a temporary reduction to the existing number of lanes.
- The scope also involves Falling Weight Deflectometer field testing, field condition assessment, and fast track concrete base rehabilitation/repairs of the existing composite pavement structure (jointed concrete base with asphaltic overlay) under nighttime lane closures utilizing moveable barrier.
- Structural rehabilitation work includes field condition survey with concrete removals, concrete patch repairs to the substructure, girders/deck/barrier wall of bridges and retaining walls, replacing/strengthening barrier walls, jacking of bridge decks, replacement of the existing bearings, replacement of waterproofing membrane/asphalt on decks and replacement of existing expansion joints.
- Other field material testing for pavement smoothness test, tensile bond test, sewer CCTV inspection, ATMS, and Electrical tests, etc are also included.
- Existing drainage structures and deteriorated sewers are included to be rehabilitated with trenchless technology of form/fold liner.
- Improvements to the existing ramps at Interchanges and reconstruction/ rehabilitation of the municipal roads and their intersections within MTO limits are also in the scope for CA services.
- Electrical work includes replacement of the existing luminaires, new traffic signals installation at intersections spread over several weekends, and continuous ongoing coordination with hydro utility for liaison needed approvals and hydro hook-ups in the field due to new installations.
- Existing ATMS ducts containing communication fiber and Zayo utility combined will require temporary relocation.
- Temporary Variable Message Signs fabrication/installation due to traffic staging detoured over median with final reinstatement of all permanent ATMS works is also included.
- New VMS electronic boards and (static and dynamic overhead) sign support structures fabrication inspection/installation is also part of the services.
- Successful construction CPM schedule administration and timely coordination/liaison with stakeholders-municipal, utility, transit, EMS, Fire, police, etc. are also expected routinely in the CA services.
