This CA assignment is for structures rehabilitation work at 8 sites within Hwy 401-403-410 interchange including a culvert rehabilitation/partial removal, ATMS system, Electrical installation, Hot Mix Paving and also rehabilitation of Hwy 403-Matheson Blvd overpass having 2 structures. The work locations include Ramp Hwy 401WB Express-Hwy 403 SB, Ramp 410SB-Hwy 401EB Collector, Hwy 401 EB/WB Express lanes structures over Tomken Road and over Hwy 410/403 and also Hwy 403 WB Express/Collector lanes over Matheson Blvd; all in Peel region. The construction is to be done in day and night shift times with potentially multi-crews from contractor over 4 construction seasons in 4 stages with sub-stages in each (Years 2022-2025). The traffic staging generally consists of maintaining exisitng number of lanes but shifted for creation of work areas. Lane reduction over several weekends is expected at Hwy 401 express structures and 410SB-401EB ramp structure. During weekends at these structures and otherwise at other locations, continuous 24 hrs work inspection is possible. Structural rehabilitation work scope generally includes partial depth deteriorated concrete removal/patch repairs to deck/substructure, replacing barrier walls on deck, jacking bridge decks and replacing exisiting bearings, replacing expansion joint systems and replacing asphalt/waterproofing membrane system on bridge-decks. Resurfacing of lanes with hot mix asphalt within limits of the work area affected, replacement of guiderail/concrete barrier wall systems as required for traffic staging and due to condition/age in median and outside shoulders is also included. One overhead sign support structure fabrication/installation is in the scope as well. Electrical work includes replacement of underpass luminaires at Tomken Road and Matheson Blvd. ATMS work includes temporary relocation and reinstatement of MTO ATMS fibre system that also includes/carries separate Zayo fibre cable at bridges being rehabilitated. New permanent ATMS installations for vehicle detection stations affected by work, new NITS installation, loops are also in the scope. Relocation on a new concret pole with connections and Compass integration of an exisitng CCTV Compass camera is also included in ATMS. A temporary queue warning system during construction of 410SB-401EB ramp structure is in the scope to detect queuing for weekend lane reductions as part of staging work. Culvert at Eglinton Avenue crossing under Hwy 403 lane platform will be rehabilitated by removing a segment to convert to open channel and remaining segment of 180m length being rehabilitated by installing liner inside exisitng. Routine and successful coordination/liaison for approvals is expected with utilities, municipal, transit and other stakeholders. Notification of construction start to municipal offices or councillors may be required with follow-up on queries or questions.
